Your Instagram feed is your business card. Even before reading your bio or checking your stories, people look at your photos. Here are our top tips to create an attractive, stunning feed that truly reflects you.
Create a clear visual identity
If you want to stand out, your Instagram feed must reflect your world. And for that, you need to be a bit strategic:
- Color palette: choose 2 or 3 colors that frequently appear in your posts (backgrounds, clothes, objects, settings…). The idea is for people to associate your visual universe with your account.
- Instagram filters: use the same light settings or filter to maintain a harmonious look.
- Consistent Instagram typography: sharing quotes, tips, or written visuals? Stick to one or two (legible!) fonts to keep it professional and recognizable.
Take care of your photos (it’s the basics)
A great Instagram feed always starts with high-quality photos.
Here are the basics:
- Avoid busy or messy backgrounds (no trash or wrinkled sheets 👀)
- Prefer natural light, especially for your feed
- Vary angles, settings, and poses
- Use your phone’s rear camera (the quality is much better!)
Tip: a white wall, wooden floor, or bright landscape always works perfectly.
Mix up your content
A stylish Instagram feed also needs visual rhythm.
Think about alternating post types:
- A photo of yourself
- A landscape or flatlay
- An inspirational quote
- A carousel with tips or storytelling
- A short video
Selling products? Instead of posting the same thing every week, mix it up with real photos, illustrations, or creative setups using tools like Canva templates, for example.
Reorganize your grid however you want (new Instagram feature!)
You can finally change the order of your posts in your feed!
It’s super handy for keeping a beautiful visual harmony.
How to do it?
- Go to your profile
- Press and hold a photo
- Click on “Edit Grid”
- Drag the posts where you want
- Save when you’re done
This feature is currently rolling out on iOS, and will soon be available on Android as well. Coming soon: the ability to post without the content appearing in the main feed.
Keep the consistency
Your account needs to have a real personality. Whether you’re a content creator, brand, or freelancer, every element should tell the same story:
- Photo style
- Colors
- Tone in captions
- Posting frequency
- Content type
Consistency is what makes people want to follow you for the long term.
A polished and consistent Instagram feed is the key to attracting and keeping your followers. By building a clear editorial style with harmonious colors, well-chosen fonts, and varied content, you strengthen your visual identity and boost your engagement. Stay creative, consistent, and most importantly, be yourself!
